Atlanta-based packaging producer Printpack Inc. has opened a thermoforming factory in Suzhou, China, making rigid plastic containers for the food packaging industry
The Suzhou plant, Printpack (Suzhou) Packaging Co., Ltd., will focus on supplying to customers in Asia, the company said in a news release, enabling local customers to shorten the supply chain and allowing timely service. The company said Printpack’s Thailand office will continue to provide sales and technical support for its internationally manufactured products. Printpack did not reply to Plastics News’ request for further details on the Suzhou facility, which officially opened on Nov. 18. However, China’s People’s Daily reported that the investment for the Suzhou site was $12.75 million.
