US demand for fluoropolymers will increase 5.3% annually to $2.4bn (€1.9bn) in 2016, with volume totaling 198m pounds (89.8m kilos), according to market analyst firm Freedonia. Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) will continue to be the most popular product fluoropolymer. However, polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) will show stronger growth. Demand from the construction segment show strongest growth - 10.4% over the 2011-2016 period. Growth will increase 6.5% in electrical and electronics, 5.7% in transportation, 4.1% in industrial processing and 3.9% in all other markets.
