Halogen-free flame-retardants nowadays have good prospects considering substitution of brominated flame-retardants in large-scale engineering thermoplastics for technical and engineering applications on the basis of PA-6 and PA-66, PBT, PP for flame-resistance properties. Each of the basic halogen-free flame-retardants classes — metal hydroxides, red phosphorus, melamine products, phosphinates, nitrogen and fluoride containing systems — have some peculiarities, useful properties and restrictions for applications.
