In the beginning of the 21 century the synthetic plastic production in the world achieves 200 million tons per year. Almost all polymer wares are out of circulation sooner or later. Polymer waste or wares are either buried in the ground or utilized by one of the ways: burning, pyrolysis, recycling. Durability of synthetic polymers meant to be their main advantage turns out to cause many problems and in perspective to become a danger for the environment. Will the application of biodegradable polymers be a solution of the problem?
