The largest in the world, the 17th International specialized exhibition of plastics and rubber industries will be held in Duesseldorf (Germany) in exhibition complex Messe Duesseldorf on October 24-31, 2007. Rubber and plastics are materials with endless innovation potential. They make revolutions almost in all spheres of life, replacing traditional materials, increasing functional properties of wares, reducing their weight, cutting down production costs and allowing implementation of new technical solutions. More vivid are achievements of plastics in high-tech spheres, such as motor-car construction, medical equipment, telecommunications, aircraft and space navigation. Already now it is possible to say for sure that K-2007 exhibition, held under slogan "Turning Vision into Business", will give a clear notion about market situation in plastics and rubber industries. About 3 thousand companies from 52 countries will present their products in 18 pavilions of the exhibition complex. The world largest enterprises and companies will introduce their innovations in the sphere of manufacture and supply of: — raw and auxiliary materials; — basic and peripheral equipment and tooling; — semi-finished goods, technical parts and various plastic wares; — services and maintenance. In May 2006, after deadline for applications to participate in the exhibition, it became clear that demand for exhibition areas had considerably grown in comparison to 2004. That is why Messe Duesseldorf Supervising Committee approved construction of a new pavilion in the north part of the complex that would increase exhibition areas from 252 to 265 thousand m2. Alongside with construction of a new pavilion, there are large-scale works performed to modernize all the facilities of Duesseldorf Exhibition complex to provide more comfort for participants and visitors. Reconstructing and modernization works are carried out in pavilion 14, and there will be a glass passageway between pavilions 14 and 15 that will connect them with the Eastern entrance to the complex. Extended areas will also be needed for various presentations and events. For instance, special show "Plastic Packaging" (Kunststoff packt's!) will be organized at the exhibition. During the show there will be a demonstration of possible applications of polymers materials for manufacturing packaging of a higher level. "Packaging" is here understood in a very wide sense: solutions presented here will vary from protection of tropical fruits on their way to shop, to sound children's bicycle helmets.
