Plastics Industry Show-2006 opened polymer exhibition season  #4 (38), 2006

Andrei Antonovich Yagubtsov, director general of JSC Zavod Progress (St.-Petersburg), tells about the latest years’ achievements

This year Plastics Industry Show was the first to open exhibition season in Russian polymer industry. The forum showed modern state of plastics processing industry in Russia and abroad and introduced raw-materials, polymer materials, glass reinforced plastics, synthetic resins, processing equipment, molds and latest technologies. Total area of exposition made up 6733 square meters. This year the forum took place alongside with exhibitions Interlakokraska and Tires and Rubber, which turned to be very convenient for work with related industries both for producers and consumers of chemical products.

226 companies (147 Russian and 79 foreign ones) from 18 countries took part in Plastics Industry Show: there were companies from Belarus, Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Israel, Italy, China, Korea, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, Czech, Switzerland, Japan. Such leading producers as Sibur Holding, Kazanorgsintez, Sterlitamak Kaustik, Omskpolimer, Kuzpolimermash, Uralkhimplast (all of them from Russia), Solvay (Belgium), Bayer MaterialScience, Ermafa Kunststofftechnik Chemnitz (Germany), T.Onionen (Finland) and other companies introduced their products and services. The exhibition was attended by over 8500 people; specialists made up about 80%.

The forum had a rich business program. The organizer of the exhibition - JSC Maxima – together with Russian Chemical Union and Plasticheskie Massy magazine carried out International scientific-applied conference “Polymer and composite materials: technologies, equipment, application”, about 50 specialists from 40 Russian and foreign companies took part in it. To the attention of the participants 14 reports were offered, the major part of them made up reviews of vital questions of obtaining and processing of polymers, innovations and results of researches conducted. A number of reports were devoted to latest elaborations in the sphere of polymer pipes’ production. A separate group was made up by reports on modern plastics processing equipment.

Within the framework of the exhibition round table “Problems of mechanical engineering in plastics processing” was organized, as well as presentation of business guide “Plastiks Catalogue-2006” and seminar of JSC Bayer “Polycarbonate and thermoplastic polyurethanes - future in plastics industry”, which highlighted problems of chemistry, processing and application of modern polycarbonates and thermoplastic polyurethanes.

During the forum the 4th international contest “The best industrial polymer materials and wares made of them – 2006” was conducted. Samples of products becoming highest scores were awarded by three golden and two silver medals and diplomas of international specialized exhibition Plastics Industry Show – 2006.

The companies Haitian, Kraft, Weima, Baliteh, European Transport Systems, Evroplast, Zavod Progress, MDM-Color, Metalika, Polipak (Dubna), SIZ Pumori told about participation in the exhibition in our columns.
